Why isn’t my Heating Working?

All Posts

As the hub of your home, when you notice a major change in your boiler or it unexpectedly breaks down this can be a very stressful situation. Furthermore, getting your central heating repaired or replaced isn’t always that simple, especially if you do not have the financial means to get it sorted quickly and in time for winter.

Here at UK Energy Management (NE) Ltd, we can arrange for your electric heating system to be replaced free of charge, thanks to free heating grants through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Scheme. If your central heating system is no longer working you could be eligible for a grant.

Here are some top signs to look out for that can indicate problems with your boiler.

Your boiler has a leak

Water leaks are a clear sign that your boiler is experiencing a fault. Corrosion of the heat exchanger can lead to damage not only to your boiler but your home too, and an overworking valve can release more water if the pressure is too high or cracks in the boiler may release water leaks. If you find pooling water around the boiler or water damage on the nearby walls, this could be a contributing factor to your boiler problems.

Your boiler is old

Boilers are one appliance that we rely upon every day but nevertheless, there comes a time when they need to be replaced. Old parts, corrosion and other problems can occur over the years so if your current boiler is over 15 years old, it may be time to upgrade to something new.

Your boiler has pressure issues

Boilers require pressure to be maintained within a certain range since it allows the hot water to circulate around your system. However, a loss of pressure or too much pressure can result in a number of problems that cause it to stop working completely. You should always keep an eye on the pressure gauge so potential issues can be spotted and rectified early!

There are underlying circuit issues

It is possible that a boiler is just broken beyond your ability to repair it, especially when there is damage to internal circuits. A boiler might stop working because a certain part of the system, like a specific pipe, had been completely destroyed due to normal wear and tear. If you can replace that part, you might be able to fix the issue fairly quickly.

At UK Energy Management (NE) Ltd, you are in safe hands. We have heating funding from utility companies to assist low income and vulnerable households whether you’re living in a privately rented or owned property across the UK.
