Questioning the cost-effectiveness of your electric heating or gas boiler? Continue reading to discover how loft insulation can save you money on energy bills.

The Purpose And Function Of Loft Insulation

When a home is heated using either central heating or a fireplace, heat is likely to escape through an uninsulated roof. Heat inevitably rises, leaving a home less warm than desired. Having loft insulation installed is the best way to avoid this problem, significantly reducing the amount of heat able to pass through a ceiling through the loft and to the outside of your home. A layer of insulation will effectively secure the home so that the air inside a building stays warmer for longer, ensuring cold air is not able to travel into your home either. Insulation foam hardens and sets as a layer of thick material, perfect for preventing the escape of heat.

Cutting Costs

You can save money long-term by investing in loft insulation, making it a no-brainer for the family home. Heating a home isn’t cheap, and with the price of gas, electricity and oil always rising, it can seem like every winter is pricier than the last. By stopping heat from escaping, you will have less of a reason to use heating appliances within the home, saving money on bills. The better the insulation, the less heat that escapes you home and the larger the savings you can make on bills.

A Sustainable Solution

Not only will loft insulation provide warmth to a home and allow you to save on energy bills, but it improves the eco-friendliness of a household as an added bonus. With a bigger emphasis on being sustainable than ever before, making worthwhile changes to your relationship with harmful energy sources means that you’re doing your bit to save the planet. Your home’s carbon footprint will be greatly reduced by relying less on central heating, making your household much more environmentally-friendly than it was before insulation.
