Is your home in need of a replacement boiler? Or are you unsure what condition your boiler is in? We have outlined the major signs to look out for that indicate a problem with your boiler, or time for a replacement. To find out more, keep on reading!

Boiler controls

Leaks

If your boiler is leaking, this is not a good sign. It could suggest that something more serious is broken internally. It’s usually something like a valve or a seal, but it could end up being more serious damage if it’s left ignored.

The best thing to do is to switch off your boiler to stop the leaking and call a professional to come and help identify the problem.

Noisy Boiler

A clunky boiler or a boiler that’s always making noise may just be a part of your daily life, however this is not a good sign!

A noisy boiler usually indicates a problem with worn down pump bearings, however if your boiler is making a buzzing noise, this could be a separate issue. It would be best to call your installation company to evaluate whether the problem is fixable or if you’re in need of a replacement boiler.

Strange Odours

You might start noticing a weird smell that’s coming from your boiler and if this is the case, it’s a pretty good indication that something isn’t right. A healthy boiler will never give off a strange smell, so it’s best to get it checked out as soon as possible.

A strange odour could be caused by carbon monoxide, which is extremely dangerous to anyone in your home. A carbon monoxide leak is a serious issue, so be sure to get in touch with your boiler installation company as soon as you can.

Breakdowns

This is a pretty tell tale sign that you’re in need of a new boiler. There could be a range of problems that stop your boiler from working properly, so it’s best to call a professional to evaluate what the problem is and what the best solution will be.

If you are struggling to heat your home, get hot water, or the boiler simply won’t function normally, you are most likely due a replacement.
