Insulation
Many people overlook the effectiveness of insulation, especially in the run up to summer when they think it is not needed. This is not the case, however. Cavity wall insulation is incredibly effective at improving the energy efficiency in your home – not only does it keep the heat in when it’s cold, but it also keeps the heat out when it’s hot.
By having cavity wall insulation installed in your home, you will be saving money on your gas and electric bills from not needing to have the heating on so high or for so long in the colder months and not needing to keep fans plugged in and running so much in the hotter months. Doing so would be unnecessarily sending money down the drain, since 35% of the warmth generated by your central heating will escape directly through your cavity walls and be wasted if you don’t have insulation installed.
Smart Controls
If you have electrical heating in your home, whether that be radiators, towel rails or underfloor heating, investing in a smart control thermostat is a great way to control these wirelessly from anywhere in the world.
With the WiserTM app and thermostat, you are able to control and set the temperature in all of your rooms independently. Furthermore, you can also control this when you’re not at home, meaning you can set the heating to come on in your desired rooms right before you get home or turn it down if you’ll be out longer than intended.
