The Benefits Of Loft Insulation

All Posts

Thinking of installing loft insulation? In this helpful guide, we provide a list of key reasons to install loft insulation, highlighting how it can benefit you in the long term.

Save Money

A significant advantage of installing loft insulation, particularly as the cost of living crisis and the cost of energy begins to soar, you can save yourself money by insulating your home effectively. Loft insulation helps prevent heat from escaping from your home, maintaining warmth, and thereby reducing your reliance on your boiler to constantly heat your home.

Remember; heat rises and escapes through your roofing, so by installing loft insulation you can be safe in the knowledge that little to no excess heat is escaping, ensuring your home is warm, insulated and energy efficient.

Boost Property Value

Should you choose to sell your home in the future, the prospect of readily installed loft insulation could prove pivotal for potential buyers, helping to sell your home faster and at an increased value. Such is the overall improvement of energy efficiency, potential buyers will seek fully insulated homes to save money in the long term.

According to gov.uk, installing loft insulation and carrying out measures to ensure your home is more energy efficient will increase the overall value of the property anywhere between 14% and 38%. By improving your property’s EPC, (Energy Performance Certificate), from band G to E, or from band D to B, you could add to your property’s value by upwards of £25,000 depending on the location of your home.

Reduce Noise

Professionally installed loft insulation won’t just help keep the heat in, it will also ensure the noise stays out. Particularly effective at reducing noise levels, loft insulation is able to provide a natural barrier against external noise pollution, such as noisy neighbours or car engine revving.

Eco-Friendly

Vital in improving your property’s energy efficiency levels and reducing your carbon footprint, installing loft insulation can have a positive impact on our collective environment by preventing wasted energy from escaping through your roof.

Maintain Heat

With up to 25% of all heat lost through your property’s roof, failing to install or replace your existing loft insulation will only accelerate this process, wasting energy and costing you more in the long run. By installing loft insulation, you can eliminate this loss of heat, ensuring there is a thermal barrier preventing heat from rising and escaping through the roof.
